So Now I Get Writer's Block?

Well yesterday was Thanksgiving, as everyone knows. National Turkey Day...gobblers running for their lives followed by shoppers running for theirs on Black Friday.

What is it about this country? We seem to be making "traditions" out of the most obnoxious occurances. It used to be that you never saw ads or signs of Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving...each year it seems to be moved back further and further...I do believe one day it will bump into the 4th of July!

Black Friday? Sounds like an imminent death to me by something like the plague. But, lordy, no...the black refers to the point that all shop keeps would be out of the red and into the black. We have become a civilization that worships at the feet of greed. Regular is not enough, it has got to be SUPER sized to be right.

This morning, all over this country, thousands of early bird shoppers arose at the ungodly hour of 4 am to be able to be in line by 5 am in front of their favorite Walmart, K-Mart & Wally WhateverMart. The doors opened and chaos reigned supreme...even to the point of knocking down a very pregnant woman, people didn't stop they jumped over her to get to the sale items. Merry Christmas

Hi Sandi,
I read in The New York Times a few weeks ago that all of the stores thought they might do better if they started the holiday season the first of November, hoping they'd lure the dumb people in before the average consumer goes broke just trying to stay warm. Hmmmm... maybe it's not so bad living in Florida, after all.

Greed? Also read that the governor of Alaska was just country rewarded a $2.3 million dollar jet, yet he's been rated one of the country's worst governors. Looks like he'll also get to keep his trillion dollar bridge to nowhere that only 20 people use, even though the country is facing huge deficits as a result of Katrina. Would the greedy jerk give up the bridge or the jet to help the needy?

No way.

Well, we get what we voted for...
